Metro Paramedics Delivers COVID-19 Vaccines to Homebound Residents

The Elmhurst and Villa Park Fire Departments, and Metro Paramedic Services, are teaming up to share resources and personnel to deliver the COVID-19 vaccination to homebound residents. The DuPage County Health Department (DCHD), Region 8 Emergency Medical Service System (EMS), and local fire departments are expanding their current efforts to vaccinate homebound individuals throughout DuPage County. Several paramedics from each department were required to participate in special training and complete an exam with a score of 100% to administer the vaccination in the field. This will help ensure that any homebound individual who cannot safely leave their residence can receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
